PLACE: Sleepy Hollow
DESCRIPTION:
In the name of the good friendship born during the P4/5 Project, Andrea Pininfarina agreed to sell Jim Glickenhaus the Dino 206 Competizione that had been part of the company’s collection for many years.
The management of the restoration of one of the most beautiful cars in the world was for me a pleasant new challenge and a return for Jim Glickenhaus to the Special Projects enthusiastic team that had already designed, developed and built his P4/5 dream car. For the car, it was an amazing opportunity to live a new life.
Every car component was disassembled and put back to work. The overall restoration took about a 1.000 hrs labour and involved a dozen of skilled engineers and workers .
The car was then successfully exhibited to the major Concours d’Elegance – from Villa d’Este to Pebble Beach. Today the Dino 206 Competizione is at Scuderia Cameron-Glickenhaus’ garage, close to New York, for the delight of car enthusiasts visiting Jim Glickenhaus’ collection.
